6 reasons why you need heating blankets on your industrial liquid containers during winter

The Benefits of Heated Covers for Industrial Liquids During Harsh Canadian Winters When it comes to handling industrial liquids during the brutal Canadian winters, maintaining the proper temperature is critical for efficiency and safety. Whether you're storing or transporting chemicals, oils, adhesives, or other sensitive materials in drums, pails, or totes, freezing conditions can severely impact their viscosity, usability, and even cause irreversible damage. One practical solution to this challenge is the use of heated covers or heating blankets. Here’s why they are essential for industrial applications. 1. Preventing Freezing and Maintaining Flow Canadian winters often bring sub-zero temperatures, which can cause industrial liquids to freeze or become too viscous to be effectively processed. Heated covers help maintain the fluidity of liquids by applying consistent, controlled warmth around drums, pails, or totes. This prevents costly downtime associated wi...

6 Reasons Why Removable Insulation Covers Are Essential in Hospitals

Why Removable Insulation Covers Are a Smart Investment for Hospitals In the complex environment of a hospital, efficiency, safety, and cost management are crucial. Every decision made must prioritize patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. While often overlooked, insulation in hospitals plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. One of the most effective and versatile solutions is the use of removable insulation covers, also known as removable insulation jackets. These covers are a smart investment for any healthcare facility, offering a range of benefits that directly impact the hospital’s bottom line and overall performance. 1. Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings Hospitals operate 24/7, making energy consumption a significant cost factor. Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, along with various mechanical equipment, consume vast amounts of energy. Uninsulated or poorly insulated equipment can lead...

Which Removable Insulation Cover Materials to chose?

Flexible, removable insulation covers find application in heavy industries where swift or regular access to equipment is essential. These covers are crucial for insulating heat (or cold) to ensure safety, energy efficiency, and precision in industrial processes. A common inquiry revolves around the choice of fabric under specific circumstances. One pivotal factor to contemplate is whether the material is in direct contact with the equipment or exposed to external elements.   Presented below is a Decision Table to assist you in making informed choices:   Link We hope this table will facilitate your choice next time you require flexible removable cover insulation. Call Robco or Prodimax if you need further information.

HOW TO WRAP PIPE WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE TAPE

HOW TO WRAP PIPE WITH HIGH TEMPERATURE TAPE by: RedOps / Robco Rule of thumb is wrapping the tape for the first turn around, then start the second wrapping halfway over the first and continue this pattern for the entire tape wrapping of the pipe length.   This will create a double wrapping of the pipe and this is the best practice for protection. Just as you would do on a hockey stick!

What does “K” factor mean for Insulation?

What does “K” factor mean for Insulation? Thomas Cipriani – Product Specialist at Robco The K factor expresses the amount of heat transferred by a chosen material at a specific temperature. The higher the temperature, the higher the amount of heat is transferred. To determine the K Factor, we use the Thermal Conductivity rating of the material or ability to conduct heat. Usually, insulation materials have a K Factor of less than one. The lower the K factor, the better the insulation. HOT face / COLD face: Exposed side / absorbed heat. When we know the temperature of exposure and the Thermal Conductivity of the material we can determine the temperature on the outside of the insulation that will be exposed.

8 Benefits of Biosoluble Fibre

Whenever Biosoluble wool insulation is an option for your application, go for it. There are many reasons why. Here are the main 8 benefits of Biosoluble Fibre. Text & photo: Jean Melançon - Robco 1. Excellent thermal insulation properties  A Biosoluble needled blanket shows comparable heat loss than a ceramic blanket of the same thickness. 2. No binder The needling process doesn’t require any binder nor transfer lubricant onto the fibers. 3. Good thermal stability Thermal stability is good for a vast array of applications. 4. Low thermal accumulation It offers a low heat storage index and most Biosoluble fibers demonstrate a low shot content. 5. Excellent resistance to most corrosive substances Very good resistance to various chemicals (except phosphoric and hydrofluoric acids and concentrated bases and solvents) 6. Very good flexibility and resilience Very flexible and malleable it allows easy handling and installation and has good resilience to compression. It can be die-cut ...
